Interview with Marble City represented by Gavin Waldron.

Can you tell more about you ?

We are specialized in all kinds of stones. For 30 years, we have been working in London and elsewhere with leading designers, builders and developers, as well as with the public from our central London site. We have introduced the timeless beauty of stone into bathrooms, shower rooms, steam rooms, kitchens, floors, fireplaces, stairs, stairs and swimming pools, in a contemporary and classic design.

Can you explain your history with Thibaut machines?

We started with a T108A back in 2003. In January 2018, we inquired about a T812 machining centre. During a visit to a colleague with a bridge saw TC600  and a T812 machining centre, accompanied by Bruno Machado, Thibaut agent On Point Engineering, we preferred to invest in the TC600.

Which specific needs does each of your machine suit?

The TC600 was bought to work with new digital templates for bespoke work we are doing in London mainly on private residential projects. Our workshops are equipped with the latest in computer controlled stone cutting and polishing machines, which enable us to produce stone product to a very high quality in a wide range of finishes.  We manufacture and finish a wide range of stone features to custom measurement on site including sinks, bathroom vanities, bath surrounds, vanity shelving and kitchen worktops.

What are your sectors of activity? Who are your customers?

Our sector of activity is mainly private residential work mainly in London. We do bathrooms, steps, fireplaces, kitchens, swimming-pool, flooring.  Our customers are builders, Architects and private individuals. We stock a diverse range of stones, including marble, granite, limestone, sandstone, slate, volcano and human-made quartz composite stone. We can help match the colours of existing stones and we are convinced that we can obtain most of the natural stones found in the world through our extensive network of contacts.

How many workpieces do you produce per week ?

We produce approximately 100 pieces of work per week (all combined). It depends on the season and the work load.

Is your company international ?  Where are your customers ?

Our customers are a mix of nationalities with property interests in London. It is more a domestic market.

Your best project and why ?

A private refurbishment of a Master Bathroom at a Stately home in Ipswich, because it used all our skills, planning, measuring, water jet cutting, hand finishing and installation. Some, during and after images bellow.
